In the 1950s there were two important names in classic professional women`s wrestling training, management, and promotion: Mildred Burke and Billy Wolfe. Burke herself was trained by Wolfe (whom she was married to for many years), and was the undefeated women’s world champion from 1935-1954. After that, she became a trainer and promoter, and the girls she and Wolfe worked with were the biggest stars of the late 1950s and early 1960s.

On this tape, you’ll see one of Burke’s most famous rivals, Wolfe’s protégé June Byers--a powerhouse beautiful brunette whose finishing move, the Byers’ Bridge, left many women helpless in the ring. You’ll also see Mae Young in several matches, and see evidence of the brash spirit and sexy confidence that she was still displaying in RAW storylines up through the new millennium!
