Bonnie Watson : Vintage Wrestling Glamour Girls

Born in 1932, in West Union, West Virginia, Bonnie Watson is known as the tag team partner and sometimes opponent of legendary wrestler Penny Banner. The beginning of Watson's wrestling career was a rather unglamorous stretch of traveling through the country in a manner so realistically depicted by the 1980 movie Below the Belt. Back then, lady wrestlers didn't actually have a "home turf", rather, serving as added attractions on men's shows, they had to travel back and forth all the time.

 

Having married referee Stu Schwartz in 1956, she settled down in Florida, taking down the Southeastern Championship title in 1960, after she defeated Judy Glover.
